Toffee is my signature treat that I took to all social gatherings. My friends continually encouraged me to sell it. This nudge was just what I needed. But, I had to put one foot in front of the other with faith that my next step would present itself. I began working for a specialty hardware store and in the meantime, took in a batch of my homemade toffee for my coworkers. That’s where the Toni’s Toffee story began.

During the next year, many people rallied emotionally and financially behind me. Over the next few months, I accepted – and believed – I would be an entrepreneur, a small business owner. This concept blew me away. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I could run my own company doing something natural and joyful for me.

In January 2018, I started renting from a commercial kitchen, one just for fellow women bakers and chefs. Now, Toni’s Toffee is in many Austin retail stores. In addition, my toffee is award-winning recognized by the International Chocolate Salon Awards in California, one of the premier international bodies celebrating and honoring artisan and premium chocolates and confections.

I can’t wait to share my passion for toffee and empowering women. My business is a success because of the strength of my friendships. “One batch at a time” is my motto and how I live my life. I’m dedicated to helping others through my story. Through this experience, I have learned the gift of vulnerability. It’s important that I support other female entrepreneurs who have been told “no” or need the extra confidence to follow their potential.
